Thanks to all who cooked, served and came out to support the Co-Op at our annual Chili Cook-Off fundraiser this year on Saturday, March 16th!
Kevin Howell‘s tender beef chunk chili edged out Commissioner Ben Carpenter and wife Katrina‘s traditional chili, Chef Damon Barnhart from The Clay Haus restaurant’s savory entry and Dale Hague, president of the Artists’ Co-Op Board’s fiery spiced chili with a mix of heat and clove intrigue. Congratulations, Kevin!
We sold more than 75 seats this year and sold hundreds of additional dollars in art during gallery shopping hours. We met new friends and got to spend fun time with old friends. Thanks again to all who contributed and dropped in – we’re excited for next year and hope to see you soon for a class or shopping at the Co-Op!
The Somerset Artists’ Co-Op is a 501(c)3 non-profit offering low-cost and free art programs to our community and surrounding communities.
Our GoFundMe will allow us to expand our class offerings to include more in-depth jewelry courses by creating six student work areas, complete with the tools and machines that are necessary to make sterling, copper, or brass jewelry and other metal works of art.
Those include 6 tabletop benches with basic hammers, pliers, saw frames, files, and other basic tools; 2 Soldering stations with tanks and torches; a specialized group of tools; 2 Foredom stations for cleaning pieces; and a grinder/buffer for final polishing.
You can help us bring new classes to our area and provide people with the skills to create jewelry for fun and profit.
